Fuel Kavod Member Highlight - Stacy Shannon
Stacy has been such an inspiration through her entire CrossFit career. She began in 2016 and has been going STRONG ever since! Stacy has been such an inspiration because she has 3 teenage kids who are all in a form of competitive sports and a full time job. For all you moms out there, you know the struggle!
Not only has Stacy made it work for her, but she has introduce all her kids to CrossFit! And, it doesn’t stop there, her kids have also jumped on the nutrition bandwagon 🙌 Stacy has changed the trajectory of her families life, by setting an incredible example for them! Keep reading to see how Fuel has changed Stacy’s life.
- What was the problem you were having before you signed up for Fuel Kavod nutrition coaching?
“I wasn't loosing the weight or rather fat, but struggled with having the energy to exercise because I wasn't feeding my body correctly.”
- What was different about our nutrition program compared to diets you’ve tried in the past?
“It allows more flexibility in what you eat long as you meet the macros. If I don't like something then I can replace it with something that I do enjoy. Also, if I know that I am going to attend an event (such as dining out) then I can plan ahead and save up more of my carbs or fat for that particular meal. Before starting Fuel, I had always thought that I knew how to eat healthy but I quickly discovered that I wasn't eating enough to help me lose fat while increasing muscle mass. If I ever feel hungry or like I don't have much energy, then my nutrition coach adjusts my macros so I don't go hungry and have the energy to exercise.”
- Take us to the moment when you realized our nutrition program was actually going to solve your problem.
“Although it took several months to get the hang of it and actually be consistent, I started to tell that I had more energy which in turn allowed me to work out harder in class. I started to notice that my clothes fit looser. I have been able to maintain the same weight for several months now but my body composition has continued to improve.”
- Tell us what life looks like now that your problem is solved, or is being solved?
“Of course there are days that I don't always meet my macros, however those are the days that I realize how important it is to fuel your body correctly. I don't have the energy or stamina on those "off" days. I have also been able to show my family and friends that you can't starve yourself and expect progress. It isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle of healthy eating. I hope that I can be a good role model for the people around me, especially my kids by showing them how to eat healthy and take care of myself.”
