6 Tips For Staying Active On Vacation

Ahhhh, summer is here. And with summer, comes vacations! Heck. Yes.

You have worked so hard up until this point! Enjoying yourself doesn’t mean you have to lose progress. We want to share some tips with our Kavod members on how to stay active while on vacation.

  1. Plan to work out! Drop in to a CrossFit gym and meet some people while on vacation. We always hear about how great of a time people have when they drop in to a gym while on vacation. The first tip is pretty straight forward.

  2. Find restaurants and activities in walking distance. This can be an adventure! Walking around a new area is always fun, you may find some shops that you wouldn’t have noticed while riding in a car!

  3. Play with the kids and swim in the pool. If you have kids, or not, get in the pool! Swim around, hold your breath and get your heart rate up. You don’t even get sweaty! ;)

  4. Take the stairs. Instead of hopping on the elevator, take the stairs. Heck, run up them! Doing this twice a day will add up. Something is better than nothing. Bonus points: carry beach bags and chairs.

  5. Move your body on the beach. Well, doesn’t have to be the beach but working out in sand just adds to the difficulty level. Here are a few workouts to choose from!

  • 15 AMRAP - 5 Burpees, 10 Squats, 15 Situps

  • 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 - Handstand Push Ups + Pistols

  • 400m Walking Lunges *10 Push Ups each minute

  • 10 AMRAP - 5 Burpee Broad Jumps, 15 Chair Tricep Dips

  • 10 Rounds - 10 Walking Lunges, 10 Squat Jumps, 10 Push Ups

  • For Time - 50 Burpees, 40 Lunges, 30 High Jumps, 20 Hindu Push Ups, 10 Broad Jumps

6. Aim for fitness maintenance. The goal isn’t to train like you’re competing. Your goal is to move and allow your body and mind feel better. No pressure, no time, no competing. Just moving. You will thank yourself!
